Tuesday
1. I was born in Harare on December 20, 1969.
2. It was called Salisbury, then.
3. We moved to South Africa when I was five.
4. And I lived there till I was 31, when we moved to the USA.
5. The idea was, we'd stay there for a year.
6. We lived there for almost five years.
7. Then we moved to England.
8. I got very good grades at school.
9. You'd never know it if you met me now.
10. I want to be a writer.
11. I put off writing all the time.
12. I have three children.
13. I love them.
14. I think homebirth is wonderful.
15. Also breastfeeding.
16. I breastfeed my children for more years than most people do months.
17. I have one husband.
18. I love him too.
19. Although I wish all four family members were tidier.
20. Or at least would clean out their baths.
21. I like to cook.
22. I do not like to sew.
23. I love to read.
24. I read too much.
25. I am a Unitarian Universalist.
26. Finding a community in the UU church was what made the USA feel like home. I miss it.
27. I lean to the left on most issues.
28. But I'm liberal, not libertarian.
29. I am a pathological supporter of the underdog.
30. Should the underdog become top dog, I am liable to switch sides.
31. I am neurotically punctual.
32. So is one of my daughters.
33. My other family members are generally late for everything.
34. I love the ocean.
35. I love mountains.

40. So I can't list my favourite colour, food, animal and so on.
41. Because I can't choose.
42. I used to be a hypochondriac.
43. I would just have to read about a disease to be sure I had it.
44. This was in my early twenties.
45. Then, a while ago, I realised that I was still alive and hadn't succumbed to any dread disease.
46. So I got over it.
47. I rock climb.
48. This surprises me.
49. I am not an adrenaline-rush kind of person.
50. However, I like change.
51. And I get bored easily.
52. I think this may be because my family moved every couple of years when I was growing up.
53. I went to four elementary schools and three high schools.
54. I didn't mind any of the moves, except the last one.
55. Which was for my last year of high school.
56. I went from a co-ed, progressive school in a big city to an all-girls school in a small, conservative town.
57. I hated it.
58. If I had not gone there, I wouldn't have met Bobby.
59. To whom I've been married
60. Very happily
61. For 18 years.
62. I got married when I was nineteen.
63. I was pregnant.
64. I was extremely morning-sick.
65. I was ecstatic.
66. Most of our friends thought we were insane.
67. Our parents worried about us.
68. We had no money.
69. It didn't matter.
70. However, I hope never to be that poor again.
71. I don't think it would be fun second time around.
72. It is possible to study full-time and raise a baby.
73. It is hard work, though.
74. Again, I don't think I could do it again.
75. My youngest child is now ten.
76. She's one of the happiest people I know.
77. My oldest is 18.
78. Teenage hormones : he veers between delightful and .... not.
79. Middle is 15.
80. I would love another baby.
81. I am not going to have another baby.
82. That is sad.
83. Even though it's my own choice.
84. I try very hard to be a good mother.
85. I don't always succeed.
86. I love travelling.
87. Kids and youth hostels are very compatible.
88. I don't like clutter.
89. Or waste.
90. I buy mainly organic food.
91. We don't do fast food.
92. Don't hate me, I'm not a total prig.
93.We eat plenty of not-so-great stuff too.
94. Like potato chips.
95. And scones with jam and cream on Sunday mornings.
96. Both of which I love.
97. I used to teach English at a teacher-training college.
98. I also used to be a La Leche League leader.
99. Now I teach Psychology at the same sixth form college my son attends.
100. I am thinking of going back to school eventually to get my masters in counselling.
101. Meanwhile I'm studying part-time, getting my UK post-grad teaching qualification..
